- Bad photo. Shadows, glasses, wrong size. Retake it against a white wall.
- Passport expiring within 6 months. Renew first, apply second.
- Name mismatch. The form must match the passport letter for letter, including middle names.
- Wrong entry port. Vietnam's e-visa is valid only at the port you select. Pick wrong and you are not boarding.
- Scam website. Anything not ending in .gov.vn, .gov.tr, or .gov.in is a reseller. Some never submit your application at all.
- Wrong visa type. Tourist e-visas do not cover business meetings in most countries.
- Criminal or immigration history left undisclosed. The form asks. Answer honestly; getting caught lying is worse than the history.
Six of these are free to fix. The seventh costs you the trip. A pre-submission review exists precisely because humans are bad at spotting their own form errors. Sources: U.S. State Department VisaPack checks your documents, photo, and entries before submission, $9.99 one-time per destination, so the rejection reasons above get caught while they are still cheap.
